The COVID Pandemic has had profound and wide-ranging public health impacts. Apart from its direct impact on public health, it also resulted in the loss of livelihood, causing a range of indirect consequences such as food insecurity, disruptions in health and nutrition services, etc.
Amidst the lockdown, the marginalized did not have a steady income and were struggling to feed their families.
To combat the situation, Don Bosco School, Dibrugarh started the venture to feed the beggars, street children, elderly people living alone, and other poor people of Dimapur, Assam.
The staff and students have been providing cooked food packets to the school. Over 100 packets are being collected on the school campus daily and then distributed to the needy.
The noble venture was started in June and has been planned to conduct till the second week of August.
