Bosconet, February, 2022
A project in collaboration with Amazon India is now bringing smiles to children in various parts of the North East of India.
The ‘Delivering Smile’s Campaign’ by the Don Bosco Network gives children access to study computer science in Don Bosco schools located in remote regions of the North East. Under the campaign, the Don Bosco Network purchased and installed 92 computer systems in six Don Bosco schools located in Keihoa, Manipur; Mebo, Arunachal Pradesh; Nongkyndang, Meghalaya; Nabasardar, Tripura; Malvitia, Assam; and Amkachi, Assam.
These schools operate in remote regions and cater to the educational needs of marginalized rural and tribal students. The labs set up under this project will enable students to gain a functional knowledge of computers as part of their regular curriculum.
The Don Bosco Network is committed to seeing children from marginalized and rural communities receive education and holds to the confidence that education is the key to lifting these children into a better more hopeful future.
