Bosconet in collaboration with Bosco Seva Kendra conducted an inauguration for the project entitled ‘Sui-Dhaga -Empowering Women’. This is a vocational-skills based training in tailoring for marginalized and vulnerable young women. The 3-month training is being conducted for the women living at Salesian Surakshita Home located in the town of Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh. These young women are either survivors of domestic abuse or abandoned by their families. They will be provided with job-placement assistance and sewing machines, if they want to start their own tailoring shops.
A total of 50 women will benefit from this program. Safeway Concessions is the corporate partner supporting this initiative.”
