Bosconet, the network of 11 Don Bosco Planning and Development Offices (PDOs) across India, plays a crucial role in consistently enhancing the capacity of its partner organisations in various skill domains. One of its core responsibilities is to empower its constituent partners with continuous skill development.
In pursuit of this objective, Bosconet organized a comprehensive four-day proposal writing training workshop – ‘Write for Good 2023” for the Salesians and collaborators of Don Bosco Trichy Region from 16.11.23 to 19.11.23 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Tiruchy Province, Tamil Nadu with the support of Don Bosco Mission Bonn, and Misiones Salesianas, Madrid.
The inaugural ceremony, held on November 16th, was graced by Fr. Amaladoss, the Economer of Trichy Province, in the presence of Fr. Robert Simon, Assistant Director of CAUVERI. The participants were felicitated, and Mr. Louis Manohar, the resource person, was introduced. Fr. Santhanam Ubagaram, Director of Bosconet, extended his felicitation online, emphasising the significance of the training.
Fifteen participants actively engaged in the program. The workshop covered key components of community development proposals, techniques for problem identification, cause-and-effect analysis, SMART objectives, monitoring & evaluation, risk analysis, activity scheduling, budgeting, sustainability, baseline surveys, survey tools, and question formulation.
This program was a practical, hands-on workshop focused on the technicalities of writing effective proposals for community development projects. Its primary aim was to equip the Salesians and collaborators with the essential skills necessary for creating impactful community development project proposals, thereby enabling positive transformations in the communities.
In the spirit of collaboration, participants pledged to reconvene in February for an evaluation of their learning and the proposals developed as a group. They were encouraged to draft multiple proposals and maintain a comprehensive database of submissions and funded projects.
The concluding valediction ceremony on November 19th witnessed the presence of Fr. Santhanam, Director of Bosconet, Fr. Amaladoss, and Fr. Robert Simon. Each participant received a well-deserved course completion certificate, marking the successful conclusion of the training. The successful completion of the workshop in the Trichy (INT) region underscores Bosconet's commitment to empowering its partners with essential skills for impactful community development.
